Every now and then an album pops off those proverbial shelves and just begs to come home to you. It cuts its way through your defences and feels like Deja Vu or feeling seen. Whichever comes first. An album by this name, and with this artwork does that on every level. In fact, this just ROARS you’re gonna appreciate me.

This unapologetic track kicks up serious dust. Maybe that’s because I’ve been there. Maybe it has something with the fact that AFRIKABURN (Burningman’s cuz) is starting to feel very much alive on my skin. And the lyrics just bring a smile to my cappuccino in this grey midweek – never gonna end – weather. Maybe it’s because it just speaks so much truth for all the rest of us that tend to hunch our shoulders over things that get uncomfortable. I guess now, mumbling the lyrics till I find my own voice, I feel a strange sort of release that makes me want to punk-rock and bring an attitude to the table.
While the conservative adult in all of us might take this rebellious act as pure defiance. I can’t think of anyone who has not played this game of tag. Because who gets to honestly just be Tough On (just) Fridays. Like this band, that we’ve heard from before.
An instant gets on your feet, bounce around like a kid, and kick up all the pain in the world until there’s nothing left to do but giggle. Also the perfect road rage track. It’s genius really.
With a big F you and playful spunk even my mum seems to pretend she’s not tapping along.
